At OTSCR, we offer comprehensive warranty services for our custom buid computers. Our warranty covers any defects in parts or workmanship for the duration of the warranty period for normal computer use only. We’ve designed our warranty services to be straightforward and user-friendly to ensure your peace of mind.

What Our Warranty and Support Covers

When investing in a custom build PC, you deserve peace of mind knowing your purchase is protected. At OTSCR, our comprehensive warranty ensures that you receive exceptional support and service for your custom computer. Our warranty coverage is designed to address potential issues with craftsmanship, provide clarity on the duration of coverage, offer a hassle-free claims process, and ensure quick and efficient repairs.

1-Year Limited Warranty

All OTSCR custom PCs purchased from our custom build PC shop come with a one-year limited warranty, which covers the labor cost of replacing any defective component. Additionally, upgrades installed within one year of purchase (up to two upgrades) are also covered under a limited labor warranty. OTSCR will perform upgrades with customer-bought parts and retain the original part after the upgrade. All components replaced by OTSCR will be covered for the remaining period of the current warranty or for no less than 60 days after the repair invoice date. The customer is responsible for payment (at current rates) for any service or repair outside the scope of this limited warranty period.

If you want additional coverage beyond the one-year warranty period, you can purchase an extended warranty during the customization process of your custom build PC.

Repair Time

OTSCR strives to complete warranty repairs for custom builds within 3-5 business days. However, the repair time may be longer if the required parts are out of stock. In case of unexpected delays during the diagnosis or repair process, we will promptly inform and update you.

During repairs, it may be necessary to reformat or replace drives containing personal data. Reformatting drives erases all data and software/program files from them. If a drive is inaccessible or fails, the data cannot be retrieved, and the drive will be replaced. If a drive has corrupted files, repartitioning and reformatting the drive may be necessary.

OTSCR will contact you before performing any such task to discuss options for data recovery as an additional service outside of warranty. The warranty does not cover data backup or data recovery services, and you are responsible for such charges.

Components / Parts

All OTSCR custom build PCs come with a one-year warranty on parts. If any part is found to be defective during this warranty period, OTSCR will replace it under the manufacturer’s warranty. Depending on inventory availability and the manufacturer’s discretion, the defective part may be replaced with a part of equal value or better performance.

Please note that special order parts are subject to minimal support and are bound by the manufacturer’s limited warranty.

Order Cancellation/Refund

We want to ensure that your custom build is exactly what you want. That’s why we give you a 24-hour review period after placing your order. This time allows you to double-check your choices and make any necessary changes. During this period, you can contact our customer service team to modify your order.

Once the 24-hour window has passed, your order will be in production, and it may not be possible to accommodate further modifications.

Cancellations after the 24-hour window has expired are subject to a 5% service charge. There are no refunds or discounts for any unexpected delays during production.

Returns

If you wish to return a custom built PC, you have 30 days from the date of purchase to do so. To initiate a return, you must first contact OTSCR for an RMA # (Return Merchandise Authorization).

All returned custom built PCs are subject to a 20% restocking fee. All returned merchandise must be accompanied by its original packaging, accessories, and manuals, if applicable. Otherwise, your return may be subject to additional fees.

Orders over $4,000 are not eligible for return. Once we receive the returned item, we will inspect it to ensure it is in its original condition. If the item passes inspection, we will process your refund.

Limitation of Liability

Please note that OTSCR is not liable for any damages or costs related to accidents, misuse, natural disasters, excessive electrical power, or mistreatment of your custom-built computer.

OTSCR is not liable for damages to any components or loss of any data inadvertently caused by products, whether under normal or abnormal use, including those purchased from OTSCR.

You should be aware that OTSCR will not be held responsible for any losses or complications arising from computer failure or delay in production or repair of your custom build. The warranty covers only manufacturing defects and issues arising from the assembly process.

What Our Warranty Does Not Cover

Please keep in mind the following: Our warranty covers a wide range of issues for your custom build PC. However, certain situations and conditions are not covered. Knowing about these exclusions is important in order to keep your warranty valid and avoid potential problems. Below are the specific exclusions that are not covered by the warranty, highlighting the importance of using and caring for your system properly.

  • Modifications and Unauthorized Repairs

    Any damages resulting from modifications, improper installation of components, alterations, BIOS or firmware updates, or unauthorized repairs made to your custom build PC by anyone other than OTSCR will void the warranty. This includes overclocking or other hardware modifications not approved.

  • Misuse and Abuse

    Damages due to misuse, abuse, or neglect of the system are not covered. This includes physical damage caused by accidents or rough handling​.

  • Wear and Tear

    Normal wear and tear of components over time is not covered by the warranty. This includes the gradual degradation of performance or functionality that occurs with regular use. However, if a component fails prematurely due to a manufacturing defect, it will be covered under the warranty​.

  • Environmental Damage

    Damage caused by environmental factors such as liquid spills, dust, electrical surges, and extreme temperatures are excluded.

  • Third-Party Components

    Any issues arising from components not installed or purchased from OTSCR are not covered. This includes third-party hardware and peripherals.

  • Software Issues

    Problems related to software, including operating system errors, malware, and software corruption, are not covered under the hardware warranty. This includes issues that can be resolved by reinstalling or updating the software or using third-party software tools. However, if a software issue is directly caused by a hardware defect, it will be covered under the warranty​.

  • Data Loss

    The warranty does not cover data loss. It is recommended that important data be regularly backed up to prevent loss in case of hardware failure.

  • Excessive Electrical Power

    The warranty does not cover damage caused by electrical power issues, such as power surges or incorrect voltage. These issues can cause significant damage to the components of your custom build PC, and they are not covered under the warranty. It is important to use a reliable surge protector and ensure your electrical system is properly grounded to prevent such issues.

  • Cosmetic Damage

    Cosmetic issues, such as scratches, dents, and other aesthetic damages, are not covered if they do not affect the computer’s functionality.

  • Pest Infestation

    Damage caused by pest infestations, including roaches, is not covered under the limited warranty. Roach infestations can significantly harm a computer’s internal components, leading to short circuits, corrosion, and other severe issues. It is important to ensure your computer is kept in a clean, pest-free environment to maintain its functionality and longevity. Any components, such as a power supply, will not be covered under warranty if damaged by the infestation.

  • Serial Numbers

    OTSCR will not replace, repair, or refund any purchase if the component’s serial number does not match that of the original sold.

  • Liquid Damage

    Any component found to have been exposed to liquid, liquid residue, or excessive environments resulting in rust, moisture, dampness, stains, corrosion, or liquid spill on components, hardware, or electronics, burns, or component flare-ups due to a liquid accident or spill.

  • Out-of-Warranty Repairs

    Repairs conducted after the warranty period are typically covered for a limited time (60 days) after they are completed​.
